Description & Tech Specs
Hollardops is a Lower Devonian genus of Trilobite which can grow quite large. Hollardops are quite desirable for their well-detailed schizochroal eyes and uniquely fused tail (cephalon).
Most Moroccan specimens are found in the region of Jbel Issoumour in massive limestone layers. Miners split rock chunks looking for the trilobites, and glue the halves back together to be prepared. An authentic trilobite will most often have a suture line present where the miner glued the rock back together.
